A Lunch With Barbie!

So I'm pretty sure every little girl dreams about having lunch with Barbie.  Well while in NYC I got to do just that! Within minutes of walking into the lunch all of us were instantly sharing stories about when we used to play with Barbie's.  Definitely was an experience I'll never forget! It was so wonderful hearing from Michelle, Chief of Staff, about all the exciting things Barbie is involved in.  We even had a conversation about all the controversy surrounding Barbie.  When I was a kid I never felt pressured to look like Barbie, I knew I would never be blonde, unless I dyed my hair, I'd never have blue eyes, unless I got fake contacts and I'd definitely never stop eating enough to have that tiny little waist, which is humanly impossible.  However I still loved to dream up adventures and create stories of where Barbie and Ken would go.  I feel like all this pressure to look like Barbie is ridiculous! My parents raised my sister and I to stand on our own two feet and be who we want to be, I adored playing with Barbie because she had so many different accomplishments, not because I wanted to look like her.

It was so incredible to sit at our tables with a bunch of older Barbie's and to see everything this icon has stood for.  Truly an opportunity I am beyond grateful for! Thank you Lucky Magazine and thank you Barbie!

LuckyFABB Day 1!!!!

So this girl and I met in one of the most random ways! Taylor happens to be from California and her family lives about an hour and a half away from where I do. While attending Stan State I met two very incredible people (Derek and Jen) that happened to be in almost all my COMM classes.  At dinner one night I was telling Derek and Jen that I was headed to NYC for a fashion conference and Derek told me that one of his best friends worked in NYC for some fashion company.  I laughed after he told me he had no idea which one she worked for.  Bare in mind I hadn't asked her name or anything else about her, now fast forward a couple of weeks.  I had won a pair of Yosi Samra shoes from a giveaway that another blogger was having.  I got emailed by this super sweet girl named Taylor and she had asked for my shipping address.  I gave it to her and was so excited to get my new pair of shoes.  She emailed me right back and I was shocked to find out after several quick response emails that SHE WAS THE GIRL THAT DEREK WAS BEST FRIENDS WITH!!!!! Talk about random, we all laughed about that for a while, it was so awesome to get to meet her in person and hang out with her a bit at LuckyFABB. She truly is a sweet, kindhearted woman and I am so excited to get to call her a new friend!

And this was only day 1 of goody bags!!!!

So the first day of LuckyFABB was incredible to say the least! I had met some AMAZING ladies the night before at the Jane Iredale event and was so excited to get to spend the next day with them! We were ALL ACCESS attendees which meant we got to sit front and center in the conference! First we started off with getting to hear Eva Mendes and Kate Bosworth speak! There is something amazing about being in the same room with such creative bloggers and actresses! These ladies are some of the best and I had an absolutely blast getting to know them! Be sure and click on the their names to check out their blogs! From left to right, Tera, Haili, Rebecca, Meagan, Taylor !!!

Paul Mitchell Event!

It was so much fun to get to go to a Paul Mitchell focus salon for the evening and get my hair done! It was literally just starting to rain as I walked in the door so my hair was a bit damp and it definitely needed some love!

Aren't these the cutest dryers you have ever seen! They move to where ever you are sitting!

I felt so blessed to be in NYC and to be invited to LuckyFABB as it was but all the pre events were just too much fun! It was so awesome to get pampered and get to enjoy someone else doing my hair! Random, so the girl who styled my hair, who I forgot to take a picture with, is actually from Sacramento so we had tons to talk about! This was the perfect way to kick off LuckyFABB and I still can't believe I got to go! I had such a fun time with one of my fellow bloggers Alex (pictured above).  She was a blast! It was so fun to walk around NYC at night and have these events to go to! Can't wait to share my next post which kicks off with the first day of LuckyFABB! Thanks for reading! Enjoy!

Jane Iredale Event!!

Such an incredible peek at the Empire State Building!!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween last night! I am so excited to share one of my first events for LuckyFABB! The PreFABB event was up at Refinery Hotel's rooftop for Jane Iredale Cosmetics! Talk about a true NYC experience, a hotel rooftop!?? Yes, please! I'm sure everyone knows how much I love make up and am always looking for new brands to try.   Each person got to have their lipstick done, and try a new color then take home samples! It was a blast! What made it even better? Meeting these two ladies! They are such sweethearts and were such a blast to hang out with at the event! We had a blast eating light bites and chatting it up with tons of bloggers! Such a blast!!

Day 2 Part 1 in NYC!!!

So on day 2 we decided to go back to Good Morning America because we were invited to and who wouldn't!? The second day was even more fun than the first! I got to really chat with Josh and even snap a photo with Robin Roberts! She is such an inspiration and I felt honored just to get to talk to her!

What an amazing experience! On my way out Josh asked one of his assistants to get me some coffee and to give me an official Good Morning America mug... Yeah, it was pretty awesome! Next stop was the Statue of Liberty! It was my first time seeing this amazing landmark in person and it literally took my breath away.  I happened to be on the phone with my dad when I saw it for the first time and he was cracking up at my reaction! Such an incredible sight to see! It was so neat to pass Ellis Island while on the boat to the Statue of Liberty!

Such a gorgeous city scape behind me!!!

Marihelen caught my excitement on film while I was sending my parents a selfie from the Statue of Liberty while they were at work back in California!!! It was too pretty not to!! Such an amazing feeling being there! So much history and so many stories! So glad I got to see it!! Stay tuned for part 2 of day 2 coming tomorrow!!! A HUGE thank you to Josh at Good Morning America for treating us like family!!!

God Bless the U.S.A.!!!
